Pastor Victor meets couples online or in person. Both can work well. The right choice depends on your situation, your diaries and what helps you feel most at ease.
Why some couples choose online sessions
- No travel. You can join from home, which saves time and makes sessions easier to fit around work and children.
- Wherever you live. Distance isn’t a barrier.
- Privacy. Some couples feel more comfortable not being seen going to an appointment.
- Comfort. Being in familiar surroundings can help nervous couples relax.
Why some couples choose in person
- Fewer distractions. Being in a different room can make it easier to focus.
- A sense of occasion. Travelling to a session can help you prepare mentally.
- No technology worries. Some people find video calls tiring or awkward.
- Feeling the room. Some find it easier to talk openly face to face.
You can talk through what suits you on your first call. See what happens in a first session.
Making online sessions work well
Find a private space. Choose a room where you won’t be overheard, especially by children. Close the door.
Sit together. Use one screen if you can, side by side, so you both feel included.
Check your connection. Test your camera, microphone and internet before the session.
Remove distractions. Put phones on silent and close other windows on your computer.
Give yourselves a few minutes before and after. Don’t jump straight from a work call into a session. Afterwards, take a short walk or have a cup of tea before carrying on with the evening.
Use headphones if needed. If privacy at home is difficult, headphones can help, though it’s better if you can both hear clearly.
What stays the same
Whether online or in person, the sessions are:
- confidential
- one to one, for you as a couple
- based on the Bible
- focused on practical steps you can take at home
